The Good:
Brynnie has slept "through the night" 2 nights in a row! Yipee! By through the night, I really mean 11:30 to about 6:00, but then she goes back to sleep until 8:30 ish, so we call that good. It all has to do with her crib. We have officially moved Brynn out of our room and into the crib for nighttime. That also means that we have officially moved Chloe into Morgan's room.
The Bad:
As a result, I have two utterly exhausted "big kids" who take an hour or more to actually go to sleep - and that is with Chloe in a portable crib and no lightbulbs in their room! This has also had a negative effect on potty training. Floppy Sleep is still working wonders, but it is hard for Morgan to concentrate when Chloe is yelling and making noise. When Chloe started pulling her hair out, Seth and I decided that maybe we sould take a break from potty training (sad, since we were about 80% there), so we are back to diapers or pull ups (depending on what Chloe wants). She can still go on the potty and get Jelly Beans as a reward, but we are not wearing undies for a few days, maybe a week. After the baby blessing and birthday chaos of this week are over, we will try again and I will dutifully stay at home until she has a had a few consecutive days of success. She is still so young and I wouldn't mind waiting longer if it would be better for her.
The Ugly:
She is still pulling her hair out, which means we are going to have to shave her head. I cannot tell you how much this breaks my heart, but I can't take watching her pull out her hair in chunks anymore. I'll post pictures when the deed is done, but it will likely traumetize me, so only empathy and comments about how wonderful she looks are allowed! :) I am going to have to put all of her hairbows away where I can't see them so they don't make me cry!
There you have it! Lest anyone think my life, my children or myself are perfect (how anyone would get that impression is beyond me) or that I only blog the good, this post should prove otherwise. Admittedly, I am an optimist and tend to see and share mostly good, but I am not dilusional!
In other uncategorized news, I finished sewing Brynn's blessing dress and it turned out darling - pictures to come when it is back from the cleaners! It is big on her (I didn't think she would still be in 0-3 month clothes still since Chloe was already wearing 6-12 month stuff and it was getting tight), but still very cute. I have a couple more little sewing projects I am working on this week for Chloe's birthday and then my machine is going on a vacation back to it's closet downstairs for a while! I have been taking way too many pictures, so as soon as I work my way through them, I will post the gems for your enjoyment along with some random stories and such. In the meantime, Roxy is here visiting this week (always impeccable timing - blessing, birthday party and snow in our grassless backyard), Brynn is still congested and sounds like a little piggy, and now Miss Chloe is congested too. I think we are in for one of those weeks! :)
